Thank you for visiting the The ACPGBI Ileal Pouch Database site. We hope that the information available will be of value to patients who undergo restorative proctocolectomy and healthcare professionals who have an interest in this field. There are no restricted areas on this site other than the administration area as we believe access to all our documents and information should be open to every one.

Project objectives:
The ACPGBI ileal pouch database will prospectively collect information from new patients undergoing ileal pouch surgery in Great Britain and Ireland and in addition unite existing ileal pouch databases across hospitals into a central Registry. The objectives of the project are to identify factors associated with functional outcomes and adverse post-operative events following ileal pouch surgery and to develop prognostic indices for quantifying the risk of such events. The learning curve required to attain a satisfactory training in ileal pouch surgery will be evaluated and facilitate a process for monitoring ileal pouch outcomes at a national level. An extended and minimum dataset has been proposed and a dedicated database is currently being piloted to that effect. The newly developed ileal pouch database can be freely downloaded from this site.

Further Information:

The website will provide regular project updates for all users of the database. These can be viewed by clicking here. It is envisaged that anonymised feedback to participating units will be provided via this website by coded unit ID thereby allowing contributors full access to their results with comparators of national performance. This type of feedback is already availble for ACPGBI members who participate in the national bowel cancer audit via the NBOCAP website

Please feel free to visit our discussion forums or send direct feedback via the contact forms.
